De'Anthony Melton To Undergo ACL Surgery, Out For Season
De'Anthony Melton is set to undergo ACL surgery and will miss the rest of the season, the Golden State Warriors announced on Wednesday. Melton, who also battled a back injury, suffered the ACL sprain on November 12. "You can't mess around with a partially torn ACL and think that everything's going to be fine if he just plays through it. This is the right decision, and we're all very confident that he'll be back," said Steve Kerr. Melton was averaging 10.3 points and 3.3 rebounds on the season. The Warriors could receive a disabled player exception worth $6.4 million, though they are $534,000 under the first apron and not allowed to exceed it. Lindy Waters III will start in Melton's place.
