Colin Cowherd Says 1 NBA Team Has ‘No Chance’ To Win Championship

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently sitting in the ninth seed in the Western Conference and just lost by a whopping 41 points to the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

Giving up 134 points is not exactly what you are looking for if you are head coach J.J. Redick.

Fox Sports personality Colin Cowherd recently discussed the Lakers’ season outlook after their blowout loss in South Florida.

“The roster isn’t good and LeBron’s getting older. They have no chance to win a championship,” Cowherd said Thursday morning on The Herd.

This isn’t a bad take at all from Cowherd.

Aside from James and star center Anthony Davis, this Lakers roster just isn’t deep or talented enough to compete with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Denver Nuggets, or the Dallas Mavericks.

The supporting cast of Austin Reaves, Dalton Knecht, Rui Hachimura, D’Angelo Russell, etc., doesn’t feel like a championship crop.

J.J. Redick is also in his first year as an NBA head coach.

There is too much inexperience around James, who is also on the verge of turning 40.

The combination of inexperience and old age is not exactly what makes a championship team.

But the good news for the Lakers and their fan base is that the team is only 22 games into its 2024-2025 regular season.

They have plenty of time to figure out their identity, but they better do it fast, as the league waits for no team.

Next up on the schedule for the Lakers is the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night as Los Angeles continues its road trip.
