NBA TV ratings haven’t been great this season.
Although millions of people are watching games, there aren’t as many tuning in as there used to be.
And now Commissioner Adam Silver has spoken about why that happened.
According to NBACentral, Silver said it’s a combination of the World Series and the presidential election:
“I think we’re just looking at a couple weeks of ratings, there’s always some unique things, this year we were up against a World Series … you had a presidential election which was commanding an enormous amount of attention.”
Adam Silver believes the World Series and the election played a role in the NBA’s low ratings to start the season

Silver believes the league will bounce back soon, especially now that the World Series and election is over.
The NBA Cup was seen as a way to bring up ratings and it did create a lot of enthusiasm last year.
It just got started this season and has led to some big and exciting games but the ratings still haven’t been what the NBA hoped for overall.
The season is still young and there is plenty of time for a rise in the ratings.
As the months go by and other sports leagues end for the year, more people will turn to the NBA.
But for now, they are struggling to bring in viewers.
The real problem will arise if the ratings don’t go up, especially as the postseason approaches.
If that happens, the NBA will need to answer for themselves and show the fans that they are taking this issue seriously.
But will they have any solutions?
