Wayne Rooney hit by more misery as star man ruled out for long period

He did it in the Cardiff game when he got sent off. “He hasn’t trained since then, we sent him for scans and unfortunately it’s come back that he’ll need surgery and he’ll be out until January.” Cissoko signed for Plymouth on a season-long loan from French side Toulouse in the summer. The Dutch winger has since scored three goals and provided an assist in ten Championship appearances. Those strikes include a brace in the home win over Luton back in September. However, Rooney’s side are currently winless in their last four matches, losing three of them. He then spent a year coaching DC United, who he represented as a player, before becoming Birmingham manager in October 2023. Rooney lasted just three months in the job at St Andrew’s, with Blues subsequently relegated to League One last term. He then got the job at Plymouth, who beat Birmingham in the Championship relegation battle, in the summer.
