How close will this season’s race for MVP be?
For a moment, it looked like Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets was once again the clear frontrunner.
But things are changing and now Bovada is reporting, per NBACentral, that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder has the best odds.
Gilgeous-Alexander currently holds odds of +130, followed by Jokic right behind him with +135.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and Victor Wembanyama follow those two leaders.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the new favorite to win MVP, per @BovadaOfficial

Nikola Jokic +135
Giannis Antetokounmpo +475
Jayson Tatum +1200

Anyone who has been closely watching the Thunder knows just how talented and capable Gilgeous-Alexander is.
He is posting 31.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 6.2 assists a game this season, shooting a strong 52.3 percent from the field.
As for the Thunder, they have a 26-5 record, have won their last 11 games, and are the best team in their conference.
It’s truly a team effort in Oklahoma City, but Gilgeous-Alexander is making the most noise for the Thunder.
His numbers are helping him a lot, but fatigue from voting for Jokic might be assisting him too.
It’s rare that a player wins MVP three times, as Jokic has, and claiming the prize a fourth time is absolutely wild.
As talented as he is, Jokic might lose partly because people are ready to give someone else the high honor.
But there is no doubt Gilgeous-Alexander is earning Most Valuable Player fair and square.
He is playing lights-out, terrific basketball and fans would be very happy to see him win.
Gilgeous-Alexander might not just be MVP; he could also be a champion if his Thunder continue to play like this.
Will these betting odds change again, or is this Gilgeous-Alexander’s to lose?
