As part of the SFS24, the National Amateur League presented its Social Report. Present at the Panel, moderated by Sky journalist Roberta Noé, were the President of the League Giancarlo Abete, the head of CNEL Massimiliano Monanni and the Rai reporter Paola Severini Melograni.
President Abete explained with satisfaction the numbers and projects carried out by the main body of amateur football: “The League currently boasts 11,083 clubs, 62,739 teams, over 1 million athletes of which 700 thousand are under the age of 18 and an average of 542,370 matches played within a season. The League stands on two legs, the competitive one and the social one, based on the principles stated in article 33 of the Constitution. The constant objective is to pursue the concept of social responsibility through the implementation of shared policies”.
Following the words of the Rai journalist Melograni: “Rai is making a great effort for sport. The “O even no” format was born as an experimental format and quickly gained an excellent following in terms of ratings. I have been dealing with the relationship between sport and disability for some time. The many special teams scattered throughout our country deserve praise. Football is not just money or gossip. In 2024 I fulfilled my dream of the Educating Community Festival which achieved enormous success. I thank Luigi De Siervo for his trust.”
“Lega Dilettanti (LND) and CNEL – declared Massimiliano Monanni – are working on a common agreement on socially sensitive issues such as sport in prison. The Montespaccato project, on the other hand, was born from a news story relating to the seizure of an entire sports club and its structure. We managed to revitalize a difficult neighborhood in Rome using football as a tool for inclusion, cohesion with healthy local realities and professional training.
