Stephen A. Smith Says The Knicks Are ‘Pretenders’

The New York Knicks are “pretenders” in the Eastern Conference.

That is according to sports commentator and diehard Knicks fan Stephen A. Smith, who spoke on “First Take” on Monday and shared his thoughts about the team.

He said there is a “precipitous drop-off” after the top two teams in the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.

He also added that either of those teams would be able to move past the Knicks and believes the Los Angeles Lakers have a better shot at getting out of the West than the Knicks do of getting out of the East.

It’s not easy for Smith to say this, so what led him to this opinion?
