Skip Bayless Calls Out Lebron James For Trying To Pad His Stats

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off of a blowout loss to the Miami Heat, losing by 41 points.

Miami seemed to have their number from the jump, getting out to an early lead and leaving little room for the Lakers to try and mount a comeback.

This loss was frustrating for fans and analysts alike, especially since the Lakers have looked like one of the best teams in the league when they are playing well.

This game was effectively out of reach at the end of the third quarter, as the Lakers were behind by over 30 points.

However, LeBron James still played in the fourth quarter, causing analyst Skip Bayless to have a conniption on X.

In a post that was in all capital letters, Bayless expressed his discontent with James’ presence in the game, especially since he’s almost 40 years old.

In today’s NBA, coaches seem to take out their stars when games are out of reach, electing to save them for closer games.

J.J. Redick either didn’t seem to have that mentality in this game, or James could have refused to come out, potentially wanting to “pad his all-time stats,” as Bayless suggested.

James finished the game with 29 points, five rebounds, and eight assists, once again proving that he’s still effective and efficient.

It will be interesting to see if there is additional fallout from this game, as Bayless isn’t the only one wondering why James was playing into the fourth quarter, an uncharacteristic sight.
