The Los Angeles Lakers started the 2024-2025 NBA season as one of the top teams in the league.
They were on a roll, and everything seemed to go smoothly in J.J. Redick’s first season as head coach.
However, since their hot start, things have gone somewhat cold for the Lakers.
They still hold a 12-10 record, which is positive, but some of their recent game results have left something to be desired.
Fans are starting to speak out and express worry for this team; they’re not the only ones concerned.
In a recent post on X, Magic Johnson said that he’s “embarrassed” for the team, pointing out the fact that they were losing to the Miami Heat by 32 at the end of the third quarter in their latest game.
I’m embarrassed for the Lakers. They were down 32 points to the Miami Heat 105-72 at the end of the third quarter.

LeBron James played well in that game, but he wasn’t able to carry the team to victory, which was another point of frustration for fans.
He can only do so much, especially at his age, and if the rest of the team doesn’t pull their weight, it’s hard to win basketball games throughout the course of the year.
Fans hope that the team can get back to their winning ways soon, putting together more performances similar to what they showed in the early days of the season.
Otherwise, it could be another long year for the Lakers, a team with star power and promising young players, causing them to potentially re-evaluate in the offseason and make some difficult roster decisions.
