Weeks after many fans voiced their concerns for Rachael Ray, the celebrity chef is opening up about how "lucky" she is to have her husband, John Cusimano, who is the lead singer of the rock band The Cringe.

In the second episode of her new podcast, "I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead," Rachael took a moment to reflect on her relationship, telling listeners that she feels “wildly lucky” to have her husband by her side.

While speaking with guest Billy Crudup about his relationship with wife Naomi Watts, Rachael Ray, praised her own spouse, acknowledging the strength and support he brings to her life.

Rachael and her husband, musician and lawyer John Cusimano, tied the knot in Italy in 2005. A decade later, the couple returned to the same Tuscan castle to renew their vows, celebrating their enduring commitment in the place where they first said, “I do.”

“I am very wildly, wildly, wildly lucky that I have my husband,” she said of John on her podcast. “But he understands I need my space. He needs his space.”

Ray then asked guest Billy Crudup, “You guys are both wildly successful actors. How do you guys work that out? Do you consider and test material on her when you're learning a part and vice versa, or do you just, like, stay in separate corners? John and I largely stay in separate corners."

Crudup, who began dating Naomi Watts in 2017 and married her in 2023, responded by saying that the unpredictability of a creative career is “not for everybody.”

“That lack of predictability and a bit of the carnival life and a little bit of rock and roll can sometimes be exhausting to the point that you're not properly taking care of yourself,” he told Rachael on the podcast. “And the fact is, if you want to be a part of this, you have to surround yourself with enough people who can both promote you, encourage your way of doing it, and help to protect you. And that is a lot to ask.”

He continued, “And the fact is, Naomi and I have both been around for a while, so we have some level of appreciation about how to help manage one another. And we also are both really interested in acting, so we do talk about stuff.”

Rachael Ray Worries Fans After Slurring Her Words In Video

Rachael's recent comments about her husband come weeks after she left fans "concerned" as she was heard slurring her words.

Earlier this year, celebrity chef Rachael honored the late Tony Bennett in a video from her FYI series "Rachael Ray in Tuscany." In the heartfelt segment, she prepared Bennett’s favorite dish, ossobuco, while recounting a memorable story of how she “almost killed him” when he slipped on her polished floors during a visit.

In the video, Rachael's unusually slow speech caught fans’ attention, leading to speculation that there might be a serious underlying issue.

"I think it's a mini-stroke," one user speculated. "Part of her mouth seems sinking. When was this???? I haven't seen her this makes me so sad."

Another commented, "I love you but are you ok? I’m seriously concerned."

In response to these concerns, Rachael's representative told TMZ that she has "no comment" regarding the situation.

Rachael has previously opened up about the unconventional methods she uses to resolve arguments with her husband, John.

“It’s very hard, especially for hot-tempered or creative or vociferous loud people to be able to just calm it down,” she told guest Jenny Mollen on the first episode of "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead," per People. “John and I don’t calm it down ever. We have huge screaming matches all the time, but I think that’s healthy. I really do. And I don’t trust people that are too quiet."

“Too quiet freaks me out," she added. "I prefer that you tell me what you think when you think it and let’s just get it all out there.”

She later told Mollen that they don't "ever apologize to each other."

In 2020, for an interview for "The Rachael Ray Show" website, Rachael spoke out about who her husband is.

"John is a musician,” she said. “He wanted to go to Berklee College of Music and was accepted and he's a terrific musician and he plays 57 different instruments. But he went to law school because his parents told him cautiously that it's better to have a trade. He really is a master of keyboards, every stringed instrument, he's especially great with percussion."

"Smartest thing I ever did was marry an entertainment lawyer—saved me a bundle,” Ray later said. "Entertainment licensing is what John does."
