After signing Paul George during the NBA offseason, the Philadelphia 76ers were thought to have drastically upgraded their roster, adding another star player alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
Unfortunately, things haven’t gone as planned, with Embiid, Maxey and George all missing significant time to start the season.
During the preseason, George suffered a knee injury that delayed him from making his regular season debut with his new team, and now he’s suffered the same injury again, which has kept him out without a solid timeline for his return.
However, George recently did hint at when he might be back.
“I mean, it is super frustrating, especially, of course, how the season is going and then to have a reoccurring injury,” George said, via Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “It’s super frustrating, but I’m always positive about stuff, optimistic about stuff. … Hopefully be back to the guys very shortly. … Hopefully within the next week. That’s kind of been the mindset that I’ve had.”

Unfortunately for Philadelphia, the 76ers are in a big hole right now, sitting with an ugly record of 3-13, meaning the team will have a lot of work to do when at full strength in order to salvage a season that once had title-contending aspirations.
Only time will tell whether the 76ers can turn things around or if this year will turn out to be a lost cause.
