Patrick Beverley Predicts Which Player Will Win The NBA Dunk Contest

The NBA Slam Dunk Contest will be held this Saturday and basketball fans are expecting some amazing, rim-rattling moments.

But who will win it all and walk away as dunk champion?

Speaking on his show, Patrick Beverley dug into the contestants and gave his opinion.

He said that he is choosing Andre Jackson Jr. of the Milwaukee Bucks solely because he has a personal friendship with him.

Beyond that, Beverley had a few thoughts about this year’s contest.

A lot of people believe G-League star Mac McClung will win his third Dunk Contest title this year, but he has some very stiff competition.

He will be playing against Jackson as well as Matas Buzelis of the Chicago Bulls and Stephon Castle of the San Antonio Spurs.

Beverley said he doesn’t think McClung should be able to win again, partly because he plays in the G-League.

He thinks there needs to be some threshold that a player must cross before their dunks can be considered.

McClung currently plays for the Osceola Magic and will try to be the first player since the first Dunk Contest to three-peat.

A lot of people will disagree with Beverley’s thoughts because McClung has been a sensation over the last several years, and his dunks have been truly viral moments.

Jackson Jr. will be the fifth Bucks player to participate in the Dunk Contest, alongside Pat Connaughton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ray Allen, and Paul Pressey.

Does he have what it takes to win his first contest, or is Beverley’s opinion influenced too much by his friendship?
