Singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo revealed that she went to the hospital after her unexpected plunge while performing in Melbourne, Australia, as part of her “GUTS World Tour.”

The incident, which took place on October 13, left fans in shock when Rodrigo fell through a trap door onstage during her performance of “Vampire.”

As The Blast reported, Rodrigo was mid-sprint across the stage, interacting with thousands of fans, when she suddenly disappeared from view, dropping into the trap door typically used for stage effects. Fans, caught off guard by the mishap, shared footage of the fall on social media.

But, in a true show of professionalism, Olivia Rodrigo quickly caught herself and, despite the tumble, made a remarkable recovery--though she still went to the hospital after the show, just to be safe.

While fully immersed in the energy of the crowd, Olivia Rodrigo dashed across the stage during her “GUTS World Tour” concert in Melbourne, only to suddenly vanish from sight as she took a surprising tumble down a trap door. Fortunately, she made a quick recovery.

“Oh my God! That was fun,” she joked as she emerged from the lowered platform. “I'm okay!”

After she climbed out of the hole entirely, the former Disney Channel star continued to make light of the incident, joking, “Sometimes, there is just a hole in the stage. Okay, where was I? How are you doing tonight, Melbourne?”

Days after the incident, Rodrigo addressed the fall during her appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" on Tuesday, October 29, revealing that the accident had ended in a hospital visit.

“It was really scary,” she told Fallon. “Watching the video back is pretty terrifying," but “the show must go on,” Rodrigo added. “That’s show biz, baby."

The “Bad Idea, Right?” singer then revealed she “went to the hospital” following the show, but she called the incident “a beautiful thing” and is “really happy it happened in hindsight.”

Her Australia show happened right after she went to the Philippines, and so Rodrigo, who is Filipino, said she “was thinking about [her] family and [her] heritage and [her] relatives” after she fell.

“I was all shaken up and I went to the hospital after,” she revealed. “Nothing happened. They just wanted to make sure I didn't have a concussion.” But while she was there, she was taken care of by a Filipino male nurse, who, coincidentally, had the same name as her grandfather, who passed away a few months ago.

“That’s him looking after me, making sure I didn't get hurt,” Rodrigo said, reflecting on the silver lining of things.

Rodrigo encountered several other mishaps alongside her dramatic trap door fall throughout the evening.

First, while interacting with fans and diving into her choreography, Rodrigo suffered a minor wardrobe malfunction as her bracelet became tangled in her hair. Despite the entanglement, the “Vampire” singer continued to belt out her lyrics, unfazed and determined to keep the show going.

Another painful mishap, also involving her hair, happened when her brown locks became caught in her microphone during a spin, yanking several strands out in the process. In a TikTok video shared by an audience member, Rodrigo can be seen spinning with her microphone raised, then lowering it just as a section of her hair catches.

The unfortunate tangle left a chunk of hair behind in her hand as she whipped her head around. Fans, wincing in sympathy, joked that they hoped it was one of her extensions rather than her real hair.

Earlier this year, during a concert in St. Louis, Olivia Rodrigo turned heads and fueled conversation by offering fans unexpected parting gifts: condoms and Plan B, distributed in collaboration with the Missouri Abortion Fund.

The hand-outs, intended to promote reproductive health, received mixed reactions from fans. While some applauded Rodrigo’s stance and the practical support for reproductive rights, others expressed discomfort with the choice of items, claiming it was "inappropriate."

Rodrigo’s decision to partner with the Missouri Abortion Fund comes in response to Missouri’s stringent abortion restrictions, implemented following the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
