Jimmy Butler wants to leave the Miami Heat, but he may not get his wish.
However, people are already predicting where he will go if the Heat give in to his demands and send him to a different team.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, via Evan Sidery, if the Heat don’t keep Butler, the Golden State Warriors have the best shot of trading for the star.
Golden State sit at +300, followed by the Phoenix Suns with +500, the Houston Rockets with +600, and the Sacramento Kings with +2000.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, and Denver Nuggets sit at the bottom of the list.
Current betting odds on what team Jimmy Butler will be playing for after the trade deadline, per @DKSportsbook:
Heat = -145
Warriors = +300
Suns = +500
Rockets = +600
Kings = +2000
Lakers = +2000
Mavericks = +2200
Nuggets = +2500 pic.twitter.com/qawS9EoGJD— Evan Sidery (@esidery) January 3, 2025
It’s not a shock to see the Warriors and Suns as favorites to get Butler, because they have been attached to him for weeks.
It all makes sense considering they could use Butler and he wants to move to a team that has the potential to win now.
Both of those teams are struggling, but they always feel on the verge of greatness and Butler could be the missing piece that brings them postseason glory.
It’s important to note the Heat hold the best odds of having Butler after the trade deadline, so nothing is guaranteed.
Miami will be strategic about moving him and will only commit to a trade that feels right for them and lays the foundation for a strong post-Butler chapter.
If nothing valuable presents itself, they will have no problem keeping him, at least until the summer.
Plus, they have no reason to send him where he wants, so this decision is solely up to Miami’s front office.
Will they elect to work with the Warriors, Suns, or some other team?
