Odds Show The Betting Favorite To Acquire Patrick Williams

The Chicago Bulls have a long-overdue rebuilding process.

However, it’s never too late to get started.

Recent reports state they’re looking to shop Patrick Williams around the league.

They just signed him to a four-year contract extension worth $90 million this offseason.

Then again, his play has been fairly disappointing, and with Matas Buzelis looking like the future of the organization, they must clear room for him.

With that in mind, NBA Central reported that the Phoenix Suns are currently the odds-on favorites to acquire his services per Bovada Casino.

Williams was drafted as a defensive specialist.

He often drew comparisons to Kawhi Leonard because of his similar frame and prototype.

Unfortunately, injuries and a lack of offensive development have obstructed his development far too often.

The Bulls could benefit from getting draft picks to replenish their arsenal.

They’re not good enough to be a playoff team nor bad enough to land a top-three selection.

The Suns are reportedly looking to add Jimmy Butler, but that will be very difficult unless they find someone to take Bradley Beal’s massive contract, which the Miami Heat have been reluctant to do.

Williams is clearly not Jimmy Butler, but he would still give the Suns a defensive boost on the wings.

Given their shortage of trading assets, it will be interesting to see how they manage to pull this off.
