The Denver Nuggets will have a few choices to make when pursuing stars before the upcoming NBA trade deadline.
There are a number of players who could help the team step it up and reclaim their place at the top of the Western Conference.
But who will they use as an asset in any potential trade?
The answer is clear, according to Tony Jones and Sam Amick of The Athletic, via NBACentral.
Jones and Amick wrote that Michael Porter Jr. will be at the center of a Denver trade:
“Any big trade would likely involve Porter, according to league sources. Porter has long been one of the best shooters in the league. This season, he has rounded into becoming an all-around scorer, capable of impacting offense from all three levels.”
Michael Porter Jr. would likely be involved in any major Denver Nuggets trade, per @Tjonesonthenba & @sam_amick

The Nuggets are the only team Porter has played for during his five years in the league and he’s been a pivotal part of their lineup and their championship run in 2023.
But it sounds like his time in Denver is coming to an end.
This season, Porter is averaging 18.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists on 51.2 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from the three-point line.
As noted by Jones and Amick, he could be a good all-around scorer for plenty of other teams across the league, and so he will prove valuable during trade negotiations.
Denver doesn’t have a lot of trade chips to work with, and they want to make substantial moves in the next few weeks.
Therefore, Porter is probably their best way to land someone like Zach LaVine or others.
