When Ben Simmons entered the NBA, he was supposed to be a revolutionary player for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Since leaving the 76ers, Simmons has tried to re-establish himself as a marquee threat in this league, trying to make a difference on the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets have tried a few different ways to get Simmons involved and more active, and it seems like they’re on track to make another switch.
According to head coach Jordi Fernandez via NBA Central on X, the Nets are hoping that they can play a lot faster now that Simmons is going to be their full-time point guard.
“Dennis (Schroder) was bottom ten slowest point guards in the NBA- pace doesn’t mean you’re better or worse- and Ben is 18th-fastest… We’re going to try to play faster. The ball is going to fly. He’s going to push. He’s going to throw it ahead,” Fernandez said.

The Nets feel like Simmons still has plenty of life in this league, and that he can help take their team to the next level.
They’ll need a lot of help given the hole they’ve dug themselves in the standings, but with the right approach moving forward, there’s no telling what this team is capable of.
