Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are reportedly taking concrete steps to beat Milan and Barcelona to Marcus Rashford’s signature. According to the Daily Mail, the Germans have identified the out-of-favor Manchester United forward as a perfect replacement for Donyell Malen.

The Dutch winger is on the verge of joining Aston Villa in a permanent transfer. Despite Malen’s see-saw form, he’s been among the key components at Signal Iduna Park. Therefore, Dortmund can’t let his exit slide and are ready to rival Milan for Rashford’s services.

After being deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Ruben Amorim, the versatile forward is ready to pack his bags and leave his boyhood club this winter. The Red Devils are open to letting their homegrown star leave on loan.

However, they value the 27-year-old at £60 million. Meanwhile, the player earns an eye-watering £350,000 a week, making a permanent winter exit nearly impossible. Seemingly unfazed by Rashford’s excessive price tag and hefty wages, Milan advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic confirmed the club’s interest in the Englishman during his latest interview.

“I know Marcus well,” Ibrahimovic said. “I played with him when he was young. It is not an easy operation, but we have not spoken to him yet. We’ll see if we will speak to him.“
