The Phoenix Suns clearly aren’t the team that fans want them to be.
But that doesn’t mean that owner Mat Ishbia will put them through a rebuilding process soon.
Speaking with Tim MacMahon, Ishbia talked about overhauling the team and made it clear that he wants them to be ready and able to win as much as possible as soon as possible.
He isn’t interested in a long and slow rebuilding process.
“It’s surprising to me that other people, other fans, they actually like the rebuild process. Like, ‘Oh, let’s rebuild it.’ Are you crazy?! You think I’m going to go for seven years and try to get there? You enjoy the 2030 draft picks that we have holding? I want to try to see the game today. I want us to win today, and we’re going to try,” Ishbia said, per Evan Sidery.

Ishbia said he doesn’t want the team to rebuild but obviously, something has to change.
And because the Suns don’t control any of their first-round picks until 2032, their options are very limited.
No matter what Ishbia says, major alterations are likely on the horizon for the Suns.
At this point, most people expect to see Kevin Durant leave the team in the summer, especially after the Suns contemplated trading him before last month’s deadline.
Moving Durant will be disappointing for the team but it could end up helping them out because it may lead to a big return for his contract.
They could get several high-quality players in place of Durant, but other changes might be coming too.
Will they part ways with multiple other team members in order to avoid a long rebuilding process?
This will definitely be a team to watch throughout the offseason because they could be engaged in major trades that radically transform them.
