The Los Angeles Lakers need to do something.

Things aren’t going well for J.J. Redick’s team right now.

They can’t seem to beat good teams, Anthony Davis continues to be inconsistent, and LeBron James is currently on leave.

With that in mind, Rob Pelinka is looking to bolster their frontline.

According to a report by Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, the Lakers have inquired about the availability of Robert Williams and Jonas Valanciunas.

Both veterans would give them a major upgrade over what they have on their roster right now.

While injury-prone and undersized, Williams is an outstanding defender, rebounder, and hustler who could help Davis avoid the physical punishment of playing at the five.

Valanciunas, on the other hand, is well past his prime, but he’s still a superb pick-and-roll defender and perennial double-double threat with a smooth scoring touch around the basket.

Also, with the Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards far out of the playoff picture, it shouldn’t be difficult to get either.

Both teams have a bit of a logjam in the frontcourt, so it makes sense for them to move on from one of their veterans.

The Lakers, however, need to do a lot more to fix their situation.
