Kyle Walker Set to Join AC Milan: All the Details

AC Milan are on the verge of securing a significant defensive reinforcement as Kyle Walker is expected to arrive in Italy tomorrow to begin his new adventure with the Rossoneri.

Calciomercato report that the deal between Milan and Manchester City for Walker is in its final stages. The 34-year-old English defender will join the Italian club on a free loan with an option to buy set at approximately 5 million euros.

City have  given the final green light for the transfer, paving the way for Walker’s imminent departure to Italy. He is scheduled to arrive in Milan tomorrow to undergo the routine medical examinations, the last step before signing his contract with the Rossoneri.

Walker’s contract with Milan is set to run for two and a half years, until June 30, 2027. His salary is expected to be around 4 million euros net per season (approximately 7.4 million euros gross).

To make room for Walker in their squad lists for both Serie A and UEFA Champions League, Milan may need to make some adjustments. The potential departure of Emerson Royal, who is in talks with Galatasaray, would solve this issue by freeing up a slot for Walker in both lists. If neither Emerson nor Strahinja Pavlovic (who has rejected a move to Fenerbahce) leaves, Milan might need to remove someone else from their lists. For Serie A, Luka Jovic could be the one to make way, while in the Champions League, it’s more likely to be Emerson Royal than Pavlovic.
