Klay Thompson Has Honest Admission About Recent Scoring Milestone

Klay Thompson scored 25 points and six rebounds for the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night and he reached an important career milestone during that game.

Thompson has now scored 16,000 career points, which is a major achievement.

Following the game and speaking with the press and Landon Thomas, per Legion Hoops, Thompson opened up about scoring 16,000.

“It’s cool, but it makes you realize how ridiculous it is that LeBron has 40,000. That’s insane.”

Yes, 16,000 points is just a drop in the bucket when compared to what LeBron James has accomplished, but it’s still an impressive feat for Thompson.

Although his numbers are still lower than what he was doing during his prime years with the Golden State Warriors, Thompson looks at home with the Dallas Mavericks.

He is averaging 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

His field goal and three-point percentages are still below what fans wanted, but he seems happy and fits in with the rotation pretty well.

Will this be his last NBA home, or will Thompson continue to move on in the years ahead?

Right now, it seems like he will stay put in Dallas, but nothing is guaranteed.

He has been in the NBA for 11 seasons and has done so much, including earning five All-Star appearances and four championships.

What can he do with the Mavericks?

No, he won’t surpass James, but he can still add thousands of points to his total.
