A few weeks ago, NBA fans were shocked when the Sacramento Kings fired head coach Mike Brown.
Many people wondered if that was the right move or if it would throw the Kings off track even more.
Right now, it seems clear that the Kings made the smart choice.
The team is now 6-1 since firing Brown and, according to Evan Sidery, their numbers are much stronger.
They now have a 117.8 offensive rating, which is fifth in the league.
They are also fifth with their defensive rating (108.7), and fifth in their net rating (+9.0).
Doug Christie has taken control of this team and it seems to be helping a lot.

It’s important to remember that the Kings dug themselves into a pretty deep hole earlier this season, so they are not true playoff contenders yet.
They are the ninth seed in the West with a 19-19 record.
It’s better than it was, but they obviously still have a way to go.
Their last stretch of wins has been really encouraging, and the Kings have defeated the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and Boston Celtics.
Their win over the Celtics was their most stunning accomplishment yet, and they looked like a brand new team that was free of the obstacles from earlier this season.
How much longer can their six-game winning streak continue?
The Kings next play the Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, and Houston Rockets.
Can they keep this good thing going and show fans that they can still root for them?
Whatever Christie is doing, it’s working and the Kings are on the right track.
