The Sacramento Kings haven’t fared as well as expected this season.
It’s unsurprising that they struggle to hit shots, as adding DeMar DeRozan to the mix was always expected to affect spacing.
And while they’re taking a lot of threes, that doesn’t mean their spacing is good at all; they’re just forcing shots.
With that in mind, it would be wise to go after a bonafide threat beyond the arc, especially considering that Keegan Murray has yet to take a step forward.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to hear Evan Sidery’s report about them going after Cam Johnson or Kyle Kuzma.
According to the Forbes Sports reporter, they’ve also asked about Dorian Finney-Smith.
While he’s not known for his three-point shooting, his defensive versatility would be quite welcome in Sac-Town.
The Kings have inquired about three of the top wing options on the trade market: Cam Johnson, Kyle Kuzma, and Dorian Finney-Smith.

Sidery adds that they’ve been shopping Kevin Huerter and Trey Lyles around in multiple potential deals.
Huerter has fallen from grace in the pecking order and has been a trade candidate for two seasons, whereas Lyles has been hurt for a while now.
The Kings looked like a team on the rise two years ago, but they’ve kind of stalled.
De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis continue to post All-Star-caliber numbers, but things aren’t easy in the stacked Western Conference.
This team needs to start hitting threes, and it can’t afford to keep playing catch-up in the West.
Therefore, as the trade deadline approaches, it will most likely be very aggressive in bolstering its roster.
