Drummond injured his right ankle during the first quarter of the Sixers’ game against the Detroit Pistons a few days ago, and now he will be out of commission until at least this weekend.
During his absence, Philadelphia will play against the Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic, twice.
Adem Bona may get more minutes while Drummond is away.
Drummond has averaged 8.1 points and 8.2 rebounds during this season with the 76ers and has started in 11 of his 17 games.
He was one of the several big acquisitions the Sixers agreed to in the summer and was seen as a proven veteran who could really help the team.
And he has been helpful, and his signing seems smart now.
However, the injury bug that has been decimating the 76ers all year long has now sunk its teeth into Drummond and he’s out, proving the team has really bad luck this season.
Only three players have been in every game for the Sixers this season, and everyone else has experienced some sort of physical problem that has held them back.
Fans are hoping Drummond’s injury is the last one for the team, but it seems like the 76ers just cannot catch a break.
