In the days leading up to this week’s NBA trade deadline, rumors said that the Phoenix Suns were open to the idea of moving Kevin Durant.
For many, it was a shocking and frustrating concept.
In fact, even Durant was shocked and frustrated.
Brian Windhorst is reporting that Durant “wasn’t happy” about his name being tossed around in potential trades.
“He was not happy he was put into trade talks. I think it’s unpredictable what will happen for the next few months because it’s the nature of the sport, but I think right now it is reasonable to forecast that Durant will be breaking up with the Suns in the summer,” Windhorst said, per NBACentral.
Other teams have learned they don’t want a disgruntled Durant, so the Suns should be careful moving forward.

It was somewhat shocking to hear the Suns were even thinking about a trade with Durant.
He’s still the most important player in Phoenix and is averaging 26.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game this year.
On the other hand, the Suns are in a tough spot and have little negotiating power or other contracts they can move.
If their backs were against the wall and they really wanted to make a trade, Durant could get them a lot.
But this sends a message to Durant, and he may not soon forget it.
The Golden State Warriors were interested in Durant and were trying to get him this week, but the player made it clear that he doesn’t want to return to that franchise and still holds a grudge.
That means he doesn’t forgive easily, and this could create a big headache and loss for the Suns in the summer.
The Suns already had enough to worry about, but their trade deadline activity just made things even worse.
