JJ Redick Says He Is Frustrated After Lakers’ Loss To Hawks

The Los Angeles Lakers came close but not close enough on Friday night.

After a couple of disheartening losses, the Lakers fell against the Atlanta Hawks 134-132 in overtime.

Following the game, head coach JJ Redick spoke with the press and Spectrum SportsNet and talked about his team’s loss and how frustrating it was.

While noting that it wasn’t as tough as the recent defeats, Redick admitted that it was discouraging, partly because the Lakers were actually playing with some enthusiasm and vigor.

Even with LeBron James scoring 39 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists and Anthony Davis putting up 38 points and 10 rebounds, the Lakers just couldn’t get it done in overtime.

It’s tough for Redick to see his team’s best players actually perform very well together and still come up short.

Friday’s loss was the Lakers’ third in a row, following a defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat.

They next face the Portland Trail Blazers, and if the Lakers lose then, there will be even more questions about the state of the team.

Several recent games have featured some lackluster performances from LA, even from James himself.

But they were looking in much better shape in their game against the Hawks, they just couldn’t close the gap in the final seconds and outdo Atlanta.

Thankfully, there were some positives from the Lakers, but that is what makes this loss even more frustrating for Redick and his squad.

Now it’s time to see what sort of game plan Redick creates and how he can get his Lakers a much-needed win.
