The Los Angeles Lakers scored another important win on Thursday evening, beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 111-102.
But in the process of earning that win, the Lakers may have lost one of their most impactful stars.
Rui Hachimura injured his knee during the game and was only able to play for 18 minutes.
Following the win, head coach JJ Redick spoke with Spectrum SportsNet about Hachimura’s status.
He said it was an apparent knee strain and he didn’t know the extent of it, but he is concerned, just like he is when any other player gets hurt.
Redick said he is hopeful it’s nothing serious and will know more in the next 24 hours.
Will the Lakers be forced to battle without Hachimura?

For the season, Hachimura has averaged 13.5 points and 5.3 rebounds on 50.8 percent from the field.
He has improved his game in just about every way and is a very important part of the team’s lineup.
His offensive work has been strong, but his defensive prowess has been more powerful and has earned a lot of praise.
The team has had its fair share of injury problems all season long, and they would hate to lose Hachimura, especially right now when they have been on such a roll.
As painful as losing Hachimura would be, it would give Redick and his team a chance to see what they are made of and how they can overcome his absence.
It could be a way for them to prove themselves as the postseason draws closer.
Hachimura has started in all of his 49 games, so if he is out, Redick will need to find a reliable replacement as soon as possible.
Hopefully, if he is out, it won’t be for long, because this has been a great season for Hachimura.
