Chris Paul of the San Antonio Spurs has already had a historic career, but it became even more amazing on Sunday night as he passed Jason Kidd for second place on the NBA’s all-time career assists list.
Paul now has 12,099 assists during his 20-year career, a massive feat that may not be toppled soon.
Kidd spoke about this achievement to the press and Joey Mistretta, per ClutchPoints, and had nothing but big praise for the man who surpassed him.
Kidd said Paul’s honor was “well deserved” and called him a “future Hall of Famer.”
He also said that Paul isn’t done yet.
Kidd went on to praise John Stockton, who remains the all-time assist leader for now.
“Talk about Chris Paul and all the great point guards in this league… I didn't play long enough to catch John Stockton… He's never mentioned in the top 5 point guards ever. He should always be top 2."
