Jason Kelce has opened up on the parenting trait that makes him a ‘bad dad’ in the eyes of his kids – with wife Kylie also not a fan of the approach.
The Philadelphia Eagles legend, who brought the curtain down on his career just under a year ago, has three daughters with Kylie; Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1.
Back in November, the couple also announced they are currently expecting their fourth child together almost seven years since they tied the knot.
As he prepares to become a dad for a fourth time in 2025, Jason discussed the art of fatherhood during the latest episode of his and brother Travis’ New Heights podcast.
And one of the biggest difficulties he has encountered is convincing his daughters to face their fears in life.
‘I keep trying to get my kids to go and do stuff, because I feel like that’s how I overcame [fears], you just go and do it and you’re like, “Oh, that isn’t that bad,”‘ the 37-year-old told his younger brother. ‘My kids won’t do it.’

Jason and Travis then reminisced about their dad, Ed, making them try certain activities they were hesitant about.
‘It doesn’t work for my kids though,’ Jason continued. ‘They act like I’m being a bad dad by forcing them to do stuff they don’t want to do. That’s part of being a dad.’
Travis then told his older brother: ‘I respect it.’
‘Kylie doesn’t,’ he responded. ‘She’s like, “I have to deal with it.” I’m like, “They’ll be fine. Trust me. Ed Kelce did this to me. It’ll be good. I’m just gonna spin this little teapot around.”‘
Travis is currently gearing up for his third straight Super Bowl appearance with the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans this weekend, which comes against Jason’s beloved ex-team the Eagles.
Both Jason and Kylie have confirmed they will be rooting for Philadelphia at Caesars Superdome despite the awkward family dynamic, with Travis admitting there is ‘mixed emotions’ because of his sister-in-law’s love for the Birds particularly.
Yet aside from Sunday’s game, the Chiefs tight end also gushed about his relationship with his three nieces.
‘Those girls warm my heart,’ Travis said about Jason’s daughters. ‘They’re the absolute best.

‘Kylie and Jason are the just unbelievable parents. It’s fun that they have another one coming. But that place is going to be chaos.’
Travis also opened up on his own affection for the Eagles but insisted he wants victory on Sunday ‘more than ever’.
‘I feel like Lane Johnson is one of my brothers. Jordan Mailata is one of my brothers… over the course of (Jason’s) entire career, I’ve got to know just about every Eagle there has been,’ he said.
‘It’s definitely a family affair, I still feel very close to a lot of the people in that building, and I know my brother does too.’
