But during a brief cross with the main desk, Schmeichel took his eyes off his phone to talk down the camera. Carragher decided it would be the opportune moment to pull a prank on the Manchester United great. “Peter, Peter, 1-0 Atalanta,” Carragher said. Upon hearing Carragher, Schmeichel’s eyes immediately returned to his phone, only to see the score was still 0-0. “You are kidding me,” Schmeichel said. “Is that right? Why do you do stuff like that?” Carragher tried to justify his prank by leaning on a famous phrase from legendary Nottingham Forest manager Brian Clough. Carragher cheekily clapped back: “You’re right, actually. I don’t normally watch your interviews.” Despite Atalanta boasting 67 per cent of possession and firing off 22 shots, Celtic held out for an impressive 0-0 draw against last season’s Europa League winners.
