It is never easy for professional athletes who become household names for their respective teams to play in big-market cities like New York and Los Angeles because, at times, the noise and criticism can get so loud that they can’t even hear themselves think.
Often, even some of the best athletes can’t play in these cities as they cannot develop the thick skin needed to endure everything that comes with constantly dealing with the swings of being praised and criticized.
However, occasionally, players come through New York and Los Angeles and can deal with everything that comes with being a superstar in two of the biggest sports markets in the world.
Jalen Brunson is one of those superstars, as he hasn’t missed a beat since rising to superstardom in the Big Apple with the New York Knicks, but he admits that everything he does gets put under the microscope, including his podcast.
Brunson admits that if he had listened to every opinion about what he does off the court, he would not be in the NBA today.
“Personally, if I listened to every opinion someone says about what I did or what I do, I would not be in the NBA,” Brunson said.
