Isiah Thomas Says Lakers Star Deserves More Credit

Isiah Thomas is a Hall of Famer and did many amazing things during his 13 years in the NBA, but even he is blown away by what he sees from LeBron James.

While speaking to SiriusXM NBA Radio, Thomas said that James’ accomplishments are not “given enough weight” by the media.

He said the press should be repeatedly telling fans that this is “something we’ve never ever, ever, ever seen in our life” and probably will not see again.

Thomas was referencing James’ latest big milestone: reaching 50,000 career points.

That was obviously a huge deal for James and the NBA but Thomas feels that it should have been celebrated even more.

Instead, some people pointed out that James is 40 years old and has been playing for 22 seasons.

He thinks they will do whatever they must to downplay all that James has done during his career.

Some people might roll their eyes at the idea of James receiving more credit because he is still the face of the league and has been celebrated often throughout his career.

Others feel that James should be highlighted even more, especially since he is so much older than most of the people he is playing against.

It seems that debate around James will always continue, in the present and in the future after he retires.

Before his retirement comes, James will likely do a few more historic things and that means there will be more comments like this one from Thomas, who thinks he should be admired even more.

Thomas wants people to know that no one will ever be like James again and they should cherish every game he plays.
