The Phoenix Suns are trying to get better.

Under Mat Ishbia’s regime, that usually means making a big move.

That’s why it’s not surprising that they’re still trying to get Jimmy Butler.

According to a report by Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, the Suns are still ‘very aggressively’ pursuing the Miami Heat star.

The Heat have already turned down multiple trade package offers for their disgruntled star, but the Suns are committed to finding a solution before the trade deadline.

Moreover, this will also have a lot to do with Bradley Beal’s cooperation about potentially waiving his no-trade clause.

Beal’s agent recently stated that the team had not discussed that possibility with Beal, so he shut down all the speculation.

As for Butler, he reportedly doubled down on his desire to be traded this season in a meeting with his team’s ownership, so Pat Riley will be under a lot of pressure to find him a new home.

Of course, that also hurts his trade value.

Whoever gets him will most likely get him on a rental, and given his history of injuries and insubordination, not to mention his age, some teams could be hesitant to overpay for his services.

Still, with the Suns’ complicated salary cap situation, it’ll be interesting to see how they manage to get a deal done.

It’s ironic that the team that reportedly wants him the most is the one that could offer the least to get him, but that’s just how it goes in this business at times.
