Insider Names 4 Lakers Players Being Mentioned In Trade Talks

The Los Angeles Lakers just made a big move.

The inconsistent D’Angelo Russell is no longer there, and they added a much-needed versatile defender in Dorian Finney-Smith.

Needless to say, that’s not going to be enough if they want to turn the page.

With that in mind, they will reportedly stay in the market for more deals.

According to a report by Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, that means that Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Jalen Hood-Schifino are the top contenders to be included in a deal.

The Lakers continue to remain active in trade talks after acquiring Dorian Finney-Smith.

Los Angeles has the necessary salaries to make another impact move.

Truth be told, it’s hard to envision the Lakers getting much value for those pieces.

Jalen Hood-Schifino has barely been given an opportunity to play, and he hasn’t been all that impressive when given a chance.

Jarred Vanderbilt can guard one through five and was making strides as a three-point shooter, but it’s hard to remember the last time he was on the court, and there haven’t been many updates about a potential return date.

Gabe Vincent is yet another example of a player who looked like a great role player under Erik Spoelstra’s tutelage just to fall off a cliff as soon as he left the Miami Heat.

Rui Hachimura, on the other hand, might actually be the most valuable role player on this list.

The Lakers would certainly miss him, especially now that he’s finally become a threat from beyond the arc.

But if they want to compete at the highest level, they will have to do something.
