Randal Kolo Muani has fit in well at Juventus since day one and would welcome a prolongation of his stay past his current loan. He joined from PSG on a six-month temporary spell with no strings attached. He chatted with La Repubblica.
“My only wish is to play and have fun. If things continue like they are going, why not? This club opened its doors to me. I spoke a lot with Thiago Motta before coming here. He explained to me how he saw things and how we would play. This attracted me and pushed me to join. I didn’t think my first matches would go so well.”
Kolo Muani clarified his preferred role.
“I’m a striker, but you have to be versatile nowadays. Therefore, I’m comfortable both in the middle and wide. I prefer operating in space and exploiting my speed. However, I’m also proving to be capable of combining with my teammates in tight windows. The goal against Verona was born from that.”
Kolo Muani looked back at this subpar sojourn in Paris.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a closed chapter since I’m still under contract with them. A Frenchman at PSG is under a lot of pressure, even more so one who cost €90M, and not everybody can bear it. I couldn’t. I had my chances and didn’t take advantage of them. It hurts, but that’s football, and I have no regrets.”
“My relationship with Luis Enrique was very good, and he’s truly an excellent coach. He gave me a lot of advice. It’s a fortune to have a gaffer like that. However, the players go on the pitch in the end, not the coach. He gave me some opportunities.”
