While the New York Knicks are on a four-game winning streak and have started to play better of late, they only have a 9-6 record, which is disappointing given the preseason expectations many had for them.

Although Jalen Brunson and newcomer Karl-Anthony Towns have been playing very well, another newcomer in Mikal Bridges has had trouble finding the basket from 3-point range and has made just 31.6 percent of his 3-point attempts so far this season.

Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas has noticed something with Bridges’ form that made him question if the two-way wing suffered an injury over the summer, per KnicksMuse.

“Did he get hurt this summer?… the fact his 3 still looks the way it is, I wanna know, did he hurt himself, and then that is what happened to his shoulder, you know like Markelle Fultz.”

Over the last few years, Bridges made himself into an excellent 3-point shooter, first with the Phoenix Suns and later with the Brooklyn Nets.

It was that 3-point prowess, as well as his ability to defend opposing wings at a high level, that led New York to give up a haul of draft picks for him.

While Bridges is averaging a solid 16.3 points per game and shooting 48.8 percent from the field, and while he’s shooting over 60 percent from the midrange area, as Arenas pointed out, his 3-point shot is missing in action.

Luckily for the Knicks, they currently rank second in the NBA in 3-point shooting accuracy even with Bridges struggling from there.

They’re also fifth in points per game and second in field-goal percentage and offensive rating, and right now, that offensive excellence is keeping them close enough to the top of the Eastern Conference.
