The Los Angeles Lakers altered their roster this weekend when they sent D’Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets.

A lot of people are talking about why this happened, but former NBA star Dwight Howard has a guess.

In a video shared by Landon Buford on X, Howard said this was a decision by “LeGM,” referencing LeBron James’ famous nickname.

“LeGM made the decision. LeGM said it’s enough D’Lo,” Howard said in the video.

There have been many roster and coaching changes attributed to James during his lengthy career.

Because of how important a player he is, some people propose that he has the power to get anyone fired.

There is no evidence that James asked for Russell to be moved from the team.

Instead, it’s seemed like a foregone conclusion for months now, as Russell has received less time on the floor.

Most Lakers fans thought he would be saying goodbye to the team and this move didn’t need James’ approval.

Howard and James have a history together.

They competed against each other for many years and then played for the Lakers during their 2020 championship run.

That means he has seen James up close and knows how he works.

Does that mean he’s onto something with this claim about “LeGM”?

Every time a player leaves the Lakers, people will suggest that James had something to do with it.

That might be insulting but only a few players in the NBA have that sort of power, so James should just embrace Howard’s claim, whether it’s right or not.
