The Los Angeles Lakers recently made an unexpected trade that could have major implications for their title chances.
After seeing what they were working with, depth-wise, the Lakers decided that they needed a few more impactful players to give them the best opportunity to win down the stretch.
They sent D’Angelo Russell, Maxwell Lewis, and three second-round picks to the Brooklyn Nets, receiving Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton in return.
Both players are veterans who have performed well in recent seasons, and if nothing else, they are solid depth pieces for the Lakers moving forward.
As reporter Stefan Bondy highlighted on X. Finney-Smith had a few comments about the trade.
“If you play in Brooklyn, you know what I mean. You don’t want to be the little brother in the city. So I’m finally the big brother. It feels good,” Finney-Smith said.
