After winning eight of their first nine games, the Phoenix Suns seemed to be the real deal and finally able to live up to expectations with three star players leading the way in Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

Unfortunately, the Suns have hit a rough patch recently, with Phoenix losing three of their last four games, coming off a loss to arguably the best team in the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

During the loss to the Thunder, who beat the Suns by 16 in Oklahoma City at Paycom Center, Booker had one the worst performances of his NBA career, scoring only 12 points and going 2-for-10 from the field without a single attempt from beyond the arc.

After the loss to Oklahoma City on the road, Booker spoke to the media and tried to explain why he wasn’t able to play at the level he’s accustomed to via Duane Rankin of AZ Central.

“They were trapping me, If we make some shots early. I’m not in the business of trying to go score over double and triple teams,” Booker said.

The Thunder are currently sitting atop the West with a record of 11-2 and are looking more and more like the best team in the league outside of the undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers, who have won 14 straight games to start the season.

That said, Booker and the Suns will have to get things figured out moving forward, as they will almost certainly face the Thunder in the NBA playoffs at some point.
