Details Emerge About Pelicans’ Asking Price For Brandon Ingram

The New Orleans Pelicans may be shaking things up in a big way over the next few weeks and Brandon Ingram could be at the center of it all.

After months of rumors, the Pelicans are reportedly looking to trade Ingram.

According to Evan Sidery, the team is seeking “a prospect, draft pick and expiring contracts to dip under the luxury tax.”

He wrote:

“With Ingram hoping for a team willing to offer a long-term extension, he could ultimately become a rental for contenders.”

In other words, the Pelicans aren’t giving Ingram away for nothing but they aren’t asking for a whole lot either.

They are clearly willing to do business with any team serious about picking up Ingram’s contract.

Speaking of that contract, Ingram wants a long-term one with his next team.

He is looking for job security and a position within a team that will last for more than one season.

But that may not be possible, and, like Sidery said, he may be with his next team for a limited time.

Ingram is averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists for the season.

At 27 years old and with lots of experience, Ingram could be a valuable asset to any number of teams across the league.

But it feels that his trade value has dipped a bit over the last year, especially with his troubles last postseason and the rumors of him being unhappy with the Pelicans in the summer.

Still, the Pelicans will continue to shop Ingram around and hope to find a new home for him soon.
