At 14-28 and 12th place in the Eastern Conference, the Brooklyn Nets will be among the few sellers at the annual NBA trade deadline this year.

The Nets are in a rare position to take advantage of the market, as several teams around the league can talk themselves into making a deal to improve their championship chances.

Brooklyn has already signaled they’re willing to deal their veterans, as they’ve already shipped out Dennis Schroder, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Shake Milton.

Cam Johnson, a tall, sharp-shooting wing who can fit on almost any team, is the most attractive trade piece left on their roster.

His ability to shoot the basketball from distance and provide some length in the frontcourt makes him a highly coveted player for contenders.

So far, the Nets have balked at offers for Johnson, though Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports that they have a price in mind for the forward.

“REPORT: The Nets are seeking two first-round picks or equivalent for Cam Johnson,” Lewis reported.

It’s no surprise that Brooklyn is seeking the equivalent of two first-round picks, as the market is saturated with buyers looking for more shooting for their respective rosters.

There is plenty of interest in Johnson, who is also on a team-friendly contract beyond this season and could be a viable starter on any postseason team.

While a potential deal has not gained much traction, it’s only a matter of time before a team gets desperate and meets Brooklyn’s asking price.
