Como manager Cesc Fabregas has been linked to a couple of teams, for instance Roma and Milan, thanks to a brilliant maiden Serie A season. However, his side expects him to stay put at least next summer and possibly for the foreseeable future. Director Carlalberto Ludi discussed the coach and more to Sky (via Fantacalcio).
“He’s destined for great things and has everything to be a protagonist in the upper echelon of European football in the next few years. He has signed a long-term contract with us, and he’s very engaged in the daily work. It’s implausible for me to see him leave.”
In addition to addressing Fabregas, Ludi addressed the future of Nico Paz and Assane Diao.
“I haven’t received any call for them for now. We’re focusing on the matches. We have a large group that handles the transfer market, including an important scouting department that filters out the names that emerge from the data analysis. Then, there’s a whole negotiating phase. It’d be absurd to ask one man to handle the whole thing on his own in a big team. I coordinate a few areas. The last window was very functional.”
Ranieri praised Fabregas after Roma’s hard-fought win over Como on Sunday (via Corriere dello Sport).
“I know his work. This is an excellent team that’s completing its growth. It’ll be like Parma in the 90s. They have personality. I’m sure he’ll have a great career as he had as a player. A boss that makes his squad play like this at a young age is bound for a top club.”
