Chiesa Pledges Future to Liverpool: “I Want to Be Here”

Federico Chiesa has made his intentions clear, squashing rumors of a potential move away from Liverpool. The Italian winger’s commitment comes amid speculation linking him with a return to Serie A, particularly with Napoli showing interest following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain.

Following Liverpool’s Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven, Chiesa emphatically stated his desire to remain at Anfield: “I want to play for Liverpool! I want to be here and do my best for this club. Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world and the fanbase is just amazing. Playing at Anfield gives me shivers.”

Chiesa’s declaration comes after his first full 90-minute appearance for the Reds since joining the club. Despite a challenging start to his Liverpool career, the former Juventus player expressed gratitude for the opportunity: “I have to thank the coach, the staff, for giving me the possibility to play 90 minutes tonight. For me it was great, because I need it. I needed it for everything.”

The 27-year-old acknowledged his difficult beginning at Liverpool but emphasized his determination to succeed: “Since I joined Liverpool I’ve wanted to prove myself. I couldn’t for many reasons and tonight, getting 90 minutes after a big while, it was great.”

Chiesa also highlighted the competitive nature of the squad and his ambition to earn his place: “We have a great team and it’s hard to play, but that’s normal, because I want to be here, I want to play for Liverpool, I want to challenge myself. I will be ready for my next opportunity.”

Liverpool, who acquired Chiesa for €12 million plus €3 million in bonuses last summer, have shown no intention of parting ways with the Italian international.
