Bucks Are Reportedly Looking To Trade Veteran Guard

There have been a lot of rumors about the Milwaukee Bucks prior to this week’s trade deadline.

Will they go all-in and try to acquire Jimmy Butler or just make minor adjustments and slightly tweak their roster?

According to Eric Nehm, the Bucks are looking to trade away Pat Connaughton, the 32-year-old veteran who has been with the team for six and a half seasons.

“A quick poll of NBA executives conducted by The Athletic estimated the current price to dump Connaughton’s contract is three or four second-round picks or a late first-round pick in the next few seasons,” Nehm wrote, per NBACentral.

Would this be a smaller move before an even bigger one?

Connaughton is now in his seventh season with the Bucks and has averaged 6.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists since joining the team in 2018-19.

He has been celebrated as a helpful bench player and dedicated role player, so many teams would love to get the most out of his skills and output on the court.

The Bucks reportedly wouldn’t ask for a lot when it comes to Connaughton, instead requiring multiple second-round draft picks or a late first-rounder.

That sounds reasonable, and a team might take them up on that.

But would the Bucks continue to make moves after parting ways with Connaughton?

They might have their eyes on a bigger prize, such as Butler or someone else.

Freeing up space with a Connaughton trade could set the stage for something more significant later this week before Thursday’s deadline.
