Sky Germany reports that both Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in Augsburg winger Rubén Vargas, whose contract expires in the summer.
The 26 year old is not interested in extending his contract in the Fuggerstadt and will leave the club no later than in the summer, the club have already been informed of this decision. This means that Augsburg are open to selling Vargas in the winter for a fee of €1.5-2m.
Gladbach and Frankfurt are both interested but they face competition from abroad as both Sevilla and Villarreal are also said to be monitoring the situation.
Vargas has yet to score or assist in the league this season as an ankle injury kept him sidelined for parts of the hinründe, since his return he has been used off of the bench.
For any Bundesliga side, the signing of the 26-year-old would be a smart move as on his day, he can be a very good player, but those days are too few and far between and he plays for Augsburg, which means it is also hard for him to consistently shine.
