Borussia Dortmund close in on club record

Borussia Dortmund maintain their 100 percent record at the Westfalenstadion this season following a comfortable 4-0 win against Freiburg in the Bundesliga Konferenz.

Maximilian Beier opened the scoring for Die Schwarzgelben with his second goal in three games before Felix Nmecha doubled Dortmund’s lead from distance. Julian Brandt and Jamie Gittens then got in on the action as the Black and Yellows picked up their sixth consecutive win at home in the Bundesliga this season.

But what’s more impressive, per Opta, is that Borussia Dortmund have won their last 11 games at the Signal Iduna Park across all competitions and are just three away from matching their 1994 record when they won 14 in a row at home, the most since the Bundesliga was founded in 1963.

But after their midweek trip to Croatia to face Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund host Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich, who sit top and unbeaten in the league this season – not only that, the Rekordmeister have kept six consecutive clean sheets.
