Bill Simmons Says There Is ‘Buzz’ About Bob Myers Taking A New Job

For years, Bob Myers, a former agent, was a big presence in the front office of the Golden State Warriors, and he played a huge role in building the dynasty that yielded four NBA championships in eight seasons.

He left his general manager post with the Warriors in 2023 and has been an ESPN analyst ever since, and there have been some who have wanted him to return to the front office of an NBA team.

Per Ben Simmons, there is some buzz that Myers could head to the City of Brotherly Love and replace Daryl Morey in the Philadelphia 76ers’ front office.

For years, the Sixers have urged their fans to “trust the process” as they slowly built a team they felt could contend for the world title.

They drafted center Joel Embiid and point guard Ben Simmons, but they have shuffled their roster over the last few years while failing to reach the Eastern Conference Finals.

Last summer, they signed nine-time All-Star forward Paul George in free agency, but he and Embiid have had trouble staying healthy, which has resulted in a dismal 15-27 record for Philly.

Morey became Philly’s president of basketball operations in 2020 after he spent 13 years as the Houston Rockets’ general manager, and replacing him with Myers could bring the franchise some instant credibility, not to mention someone who has won championships and knows how to get it done.

The Sixers haven’t reached the NBA Finals since 2001 and haven’t won the world championship since back in 1983.
