Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers is arguably having his best season yet and is again reminding Lakers fans why they are so lucky to have him.
He may not look like one of the toughest stars in the NBA, but Reaves has a lot of fight in him.
Speaking to Daniel Starkand, via Legion Hoops, Reaves opened up about why he’s so tough on the court.
Like many younger brothers, Reaves earned his toughness the hard way from his older brother.
Reaves said:
“My brother used to beat the s— out of me every day. Growing up as a little brother, you never win anything… But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

This is Reaves’ fourth season in the league, and he is scoring 16.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game, shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from the three-point line.
In just a few short years, Reaves has become a starting player for one of the most storied franchises in NBA history.
It’s wild to remember that Reaves went undrafted a few years ago and is now performing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis every night.
At six-foot-five with a slight build, Reaves doesn’t appear too intimidating, but he’s never afraid of a fight, and he gives his all in each game.
He is clearly a very competitive player, no matter who he is squaring off against.
Little brothers around the world understand what Reaves is talking about when he references his childhood.
There were surely many brutal battles with his brother, and that turned him into the man he is today.
Reaves probably hated those moments as a kid, but he can now proudly say he’s one of the most beloved guards in the NBA.
