Pat Riley has been doing wonderful things for the Miami Heat for years, but he won’t be the team’s president forever.
Whoever will take over for Riley will have awfully big shoes to fill, so it’ll be an important choice made by the team’s management.
According to Bovada, per NBACentral, several people will be in the running for Riley’s job when he retires.
Andy Elisburg currently has the best odds, followed by Erik Spoelstra, Adam Simon, and Nick Arison.

Choosing Elisburg would make perfect sense because he has had a long and fruitful relationship with the Heat.
He started working with them all the way back in 1988 as a public relations intern and has worked his way up to senior vice president of basketball operations and general manager.
He knows the organization, the players, and the team’s plans better than just about anyone, and he could definitely take over for Riley.
Spoelstra would be another smart choice because he’s a celebrated coach who has led the Heat to two championships and multiple trips to the playoffs.
Both of these selections would be smart and safe choices for the Heat.
Hopefully, Miami doesn’t have to think about this decision for some time.
However, Riley is 79 years old and is surely thinking of his post-NBA life.
How much longer will he be leading the team and crafting its future?
Riley is a historic NBA figure, so anyone who takes over for him will have a lot to live up to and will carry major expectations with them.
Can Elisburg, Spoelstra, or someone else handle that?
